About Lisa: Lisa brings her background in exercise physiology and over 35 years experience as a competitive athlete to her work as a yoga instructor and multisport coach. Her approach to Yoga for Athletes and Multisport coaching focuses on improving flexibility, increasing core strength, preventing injury, increasing powers of concentration and learning relaxation techniques. Lisa’s main focus is helping her clients find balance- within their training and within their life.
Yoga for Athletes: Lisa’s passion for helping athletes incorporate yoga into their training comes from her own personal experience as an athlete. Training can be hard, time is at a premium, and learning to juggle the pressures of life, work and training goals is a balancing act of its own. Lisa’s goal is to help her clients and students find their unique balance point. Athletes who include yoga as a conscious part of their training find the invaluable components of core strength, flexibility, increased focus, breath awareness and restorative poses integral to their athletic success. Multisport Coaching: “Multisport Coaching” according to Lisa, refers to ANY athletic and fitness goal. Clients range from beginning runners, to experienced long distance runners, outdoor enthusiasts, and triathletes. Lisa trains individuals and small groups, and is especially drawn to helping her athletes experience the power of functional training and using the outdoors as their gym. Each spring Lisa’s 11 week triathlon training program for women prepares newcomers and veterans to the sport of triathlon for a local Michigan women’s only triathlon.
